Psychiatric Medication Tapering

My strategy is based on clinical experience as well as established research and my own history with psychiatric medication. I created my approach based on what I have seen work and what I’ve seen people do that can make the taper virtually impossible. Especially with polypharmacy or other complications like TBI, it’s important to do this well supported.

Targeted Amino Acid Therapy

Through clinical symptoms and amino acid testing, we determine the exact imbalance and use a specific combination with proper timing and foods to correct it. It’s well researched, effective and it just works. Useful to treat the expression of symptoms such as weepiness, allergies, low libido, anxiety, panic, insomnia and hypertension. I promise, it’s more than just 5-HTP.

Botanical Medicine

Herbs can be powerful (think of marijuana), and some have proven even more effective and safer than certain drugs or even placebo. They don’t always taste good, but when you can’t take antibiotics anymore due to Candida, this can be a great tool. Essential oils also have a lot of “pow!”

Bipolar and Schizophrenia

Many people get these diagnoses (and they may not be accurate) and struggle to remain compliant on their medications due to side effects. My goal is to support the person using nutrition and supplements as well as gather lab information, to improve quality of life. If the goal is to discontinue the medication, this may be possible with the proper support.

Functional Blood Chemistry Analysis

I utilize specialty tests and unique blood markers so we can get a really clear picture of what’s going on. I’m not looking for dis-ease markers per-say, I’m analyzing patterns from a functional perspective which I find to give us much more information.

Bioresonance Testing / Therapy

Each person has chemical and electrical signatures that can give us important information about the physical and emotional state of the body. The technology I use is called QEST4. Click here to learn more.

Peptide Therapy

Peptides are short chains of amino acids (baby proteins basically) that the body makes naturally. Each peptide does a very specific thing, which is exciting because it means we can therapeutically target a problem without influencing other functions within the body. For this reason, peptides generally have a more rapid response with fewer side effects. This can be a game changer when other therapies have failed, especially unexplained GI issues, unrelenting anxiety and weight gain.

Disordered Eating

Many psychiatric symptoms can improve with nutritional support and dietary changes. The nutritional suggestions are individualized and if disordered eating is a concern, then counseling and healing of the appetite can be discussed in a gentle way. The goal is to regulate the hormones involved in hunger and satiety while creating a healthy relationship to food.

Anxiety, Depression & OCD

I believe mental “disorders” are actually mental diseases. Disorders have no known cause so are often dismissed as being simply a genetic error. Diseases on the other hand, have a cause and in my experience, most psychiatric symptoms have a physical cause. My goal for you is that while we turn the volume down on the intensity of the anxiety, we also evaluate for what could be causing it.
