This is me!

I am a licensed naturopathic doctor with a focus on treating mental health issues such as anxiety, OCD, and eating disorders. I am an expert in psychiatric medication tapering and discontinuation, including benzodiazepines and antidepressants, with an emphasis on minimizing withdrawal symptoms and supporting nervous system repair.

I received my doctoral education at Bastyr University and licensed in the state of Arizona. I am not a psychiatrist or MD. My work blends naturopathic, nutritional, and bioresonance-informed strategies to support people whose nervous systems have been impacted by long-term medication use or difficult withdrawal experiences.

My passion for healing “tough cases” is that I too was a “tough case” and got better. I had OCD, was on benzos and struggled to find answers. Dismissed by doctors, I was told over and over there was nothing else I could try beyond pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy.

In addition to my clinical training, I have personally tapered off long-term psychiatric medication. This first-hand experience of withdrawal directly informs my clinical decision-making and the way I support patients through tapering.

This lived experience inspired me to create myocddiary.com; a site dedicated to documenting daily life of OCD and related disorders. Through this project and holistic therapies, I got better; and in 2014 did a TED talk called “MyOCDdiary: an imperfect story.”

In my clinical practice, I utilize natural and integrative modalities including functional blood chemistry analysis, targeted amino acid therapy, botanical medicine, micronutrient supplementation, peptide therapy, NAD+, epigenetic analysis, and bioresonance.

I intend to do two things:

First, to support those of you who are struggling with tireless compassion. I get it and I remember what it was like to feel stuck, dismissed, and unsure where to turn.

Second, to identify and correct what has gone awry in the body so that healing becomes possible and sustainable, and so that each person can witness their own lightbulb turn on.

And…

In my personal life, I love to paint, go backcountry camping with my siblings, bake and explore ghost towns.
